To cut a long story short a HVAC system will keep your home warm in Winter and cool in Summer. At night time it switches where the majority of cooled or heated air gets pumped into the bedrooms for a comfier night’s sleep.

When posting your project include the following vital information needed for your contractor to prepare a detailed bid, size of house, plus or including single or double garage, number of rooms, number of people in the house. Include if there is existing ductwork or if you are starting from scratch. Do you want a split system? Do you want a hypoallergenic system?

If you are replacing your AC, take a photo of it with the label showing clearly and explain why you want to change it - maybe its old, or noisy or just doesn't work any longer. Maybe you've built onto your house and you need to extend the range of your AC or your family have just outgrown your existing machine. All of these details will help your HVAC company prepare a more detailed bid.

Add location details too. if your existing AC is on the roof or if it’s ground mounted. For roof mounted ACs include information about the condition of the cage – is it old and rusty? Does it need replacing too? Is your’s a one or two story house? Make sure you include your address so the contractor can find your home on google maps and see for themselves.
